O número de pessoas mortas por gripe no Rio Grande do Sul chegou a cinco, conforme boletim semanal do Centro Estadual de Vigilância em Saúde, com dados compilados até sábado (25). As mortes ocorreram no interior do estado e Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre: Sapiranga, Três Coroas, Barra do Ribeiro, São Gabriel e Santa Rosa.
Em Sapiranga, uma menina de 11 meses foi vítima da doença, no último dia 19. Dois idosos que também faleceram em decorrência da gripe foram os primeiros casos registrados no ano. As mortes ocorreram nos dias 2 (em Barra do Ribeiro) e 11 (em São Gabriel) deste mês.
Ainda de acordo com o boletim, são 37 casos confirmados da doença, dos quais:
Influenza A (H1N1) - 20 casos (dois óbitos)
Influenza A (H3N2) - 11 casos (dois óbitos)
Influenza A não-subtipado - 3 casos
Influenza A (H1N1) inconclusivo - um caso
Influenza B - 2 casos (um óbito)
Em comparação com o mesmo período do ano passado, o número de óbitos diminuiu – de seis para cinco – e também o total de casos confirmados – 59 contra 37. A campanha nacional de vacinação contra a gripe vai até sexta-feira (31).
