Caixa d'água derrete com o calor no interior do RS
Uma caixa d’água de 1 mil litros derreteu devido ao forte calor na tarde de domingo, 23. O fato foi registrado em uma propriedade rural na localidade do Barro Vermelho, no interior de Cachoeira do Sul.
Segundo o proprietário, um termômetro instalado na localidade marcava 41°C quando a caixa d’agua começou apresentar os primeiros indícios de derretimento. “A caixa d’agua estava cheia quando ela começou a ceder”, informou o produtor.

Mestre em Engenharia de Materiais, o professor Glaucinei Rodrigues explica que o calor pode sim alterar a forma da estrutura, já que é composta de polietileno – um material plástico que pode ser moldado sob temperatura e pressão.
Segundo Rodrigues, a temperatura de fusão do polietileno é relativamente baixa – cerca de 112°C. “Para se fazer uma caixa d’água, os grãos de polietileno são derretidos em uma máquina aquecida a cerca de 112°C. Com a exposição ao sol, ao longo do dia, a água contida nela pode ter aquecido e chegado perto da temperatura de fusão, gerando o derretimento”, explica.
