China nega propriedade sobre lixo espacial que atingirá Lua
A China negou, nesta segunda-feira (21), sua responsabilidade pelos destroços de um foguete que se chocará com a Lua. A declaração ocorre depois de especialistas afirmarem que estas peças eram, provavelmente, procedentes do programa espacial de Pequim.
Inicialmente, os astrônomos pensaram que os objetos errantes fossem partes de um foguete SpaceX caído há sete anos. Surgiu, então, a tese de que o lixo espacial era propulsor 5-T1 de Chang'e, lançado em 2014 no âmbito do programa de exploração lunar da China. O foguete deve colidir com o lado oculto da Lua em 4 de março.
Em declarações nesta segunda, o Ministério chinês das Relações Exteriores rejeitou a afirmação e informou que o propulsor "entrou com segurança na atmosfera terrestre e foi completamente incinerado". Pequim "defende, com consciência, a sustentabilidade das atividades no espaço sideral", disse o porta-voz Wang Wenbin em uma coletiva de imprensa de rotina.
A China tem o objetivo de se tornar uma superpotência espacial. No ano passado, conseguiu a façanha de enviar a missão tripulada mais longa para sua nova estação espacial.
