Mais de 17 mil veículos são flagrados no RS trafegando acima da velocidade no feriadão
O Comando Rodoviário da Brigada Militar flagrou 17.470 veículos trafegando acima do limite de velocidade e registrou 5.988 infrações de trânsito durante o feriadão de Carnaval. Entre a última sexta-feira e o meio-dia desta quarta-feira, o efetivo do CRBM verificou ainda 223 motoristas dirigindo sob a influência de álcool nas estradas estaduais gaúchas.
No período, os policiais rodoviários fiscalizaram 10.040 veículos e identificaram 21.140 pessoas. No feriadão, o CRBM registrou cinco acidentes com morte, resultando em seis vítimas fatais.
“Com base na análise preliminar dos sinistros, a gravidade dos acidentes foi potencializada pelo excesso de velocidade, ultrapassagem de risco, não uso do cinto de segurança e embriaguez ao volante”, frisou em nota oficial.
O CRBM ressaltou também que “tem intensificado a fiscalização com policiamento rodoviário, visando a prevenção da acidentalidade e a contenção da criminalidade nas rodovias gaúchas” e que o principal objetivo é “a preservação de vidas”.
No Litoral Norte, apenas entre sexta-feira e domingo, o CRBM autuou mais de 4 mil veículos por excesso de velocidade. Três pessoas foram presas por embriaguez e houve 12 casos de embriaguez administrativa. Um total de 84 condutores se recusou ao teste de etilômetro. Os policiais rodoviários fiscalizaram 1.364 veículos e identificaram 1.659 pessoas.

Já a Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF) vai encerrar a operação somente à meia-noite desta quarta-feira, devendo divulgar o balanço do feriadão na quinta-feira.
