Avião da FAB que resgatará brasileiros decola hoje para a Polônia
Um avião KC-390 Millennium, da Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB), decola hoje (7), às 15h, da Base Aérea de Brasília para cumprir a missão de resgate de brasileiros que deixaram a Ucrânia por causa da guerra. A aeronave está prevista para pousar em Varsóvia, na Polônia, na quarta-feira (9).
O avião leva 11,6 toneladas de medicamentos para atendimento emergencial, alimentos e itens de necessidade básica com tecnologia para funcionamento autônomo – utilizados em locais sem recursos e em situações extremas, como guerras e conflitos, como ajuda humanitária à Ucrânia.
Ação interministerial
A ação interministerial, denominada Operação Repatriação, ocorre de forma integrada entre os ministérios da Defesa, das Relações Exteriores e da Saúde. Os brasileiros repatriados devem chegar ao Brasil na quinta-feira (10).
A situação na Ucrânia continua grave e o total de refugiados que fugiram da invasão russa já chega a 1,5 milhão, segundo o diretor da Agência da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) para Refugiados (Acnur), Filippo Grandi. "Esta é a crise de refugiados que mais cresce na Europa desde o fim da Segunda Guerra Mundial", disse. A Polônia, Romênia e Hungria têm sido o destino da maioria dos refugiados.
