Shell anuncia saída de operações de petróleo e gás da Rússia
A Shell anunciou nesta terça-feira planos de gradualmente abandonar operações de petróleo e gás natural na Rússia, em resposta à invasão da Ucrâniapor forças russas. De imediato, a petrolífera britânica está interrompendo todas as compras à vista de petróleo bruto russo e não renovará mais contratos com o país. Em comunicado, a empresa disse que fechará seus postos de serviços e encerrará as operações de combustíveis de aviação e lubrificantes na Rússia.
Além disso, a Shell irá alterar sua rede de fornecimento de petróleo de modo a retirar os volumes russos do produto o mais rápido possível. A petrolífera ressaltou, porém, que essa iniciativa pode demorar semanas, a depender da localização física e disponibilidade de alternativas.
A Shell disse também que abandonar os produtos russos de forma gradual será um desafio e que mudar essa parte do sistema energético exigirá esforços coordenados de governos, fornecedores de energia e clientes.
A empresa também se desculpou por ter comprado uma carga de petróleo bruto russo na semana passada e prometeu destinar os lucros dos volumes russos restantes que ainda processará para um fundo voltado para aliviar a crise na Ucrânia.
