Força-tarefa vai atuar por mais um ano contra infratores ambientais
A Força-Tarefa da AGU (Advocacia-Geral da União) em Defesa da Amazônia vai atuar por mais um ano em ações na defesa da região. A portaria com a medida está publicada no Diário Oficial da União desta quarta-feira (23).
A força-tarefa foi instituída em setembro de 2019 para atuação nas demandas judiciais que tenham por objeto a defesa de políticas públicas ambientais prioritárias da União, do Ibama e ICMBio nos nove estados que integram a Amazônia Legal.
Na sua última atuação, em fevereiro deste ano, a força-tarefa conseguiu o bloqueio de bens de um infrator ambiental no valor de mais de R$ 78 milhões, após o desmatamento de uma área de quase 4 mil hectares. O dinheiro será usado para garantir a recuperação da área degrada na região. Até dezembro de 2021, haviam sido ajuizadas 174 ações civis pública contra infratores ambientais.
