Cerca de 250 mil clientes estão sem luz no Rio Grande do Sul em função dos temporais que atingiram as regiões Metropolitana, Fronteira Oeste, Central, Norte, Noroeste e vales do Rio Pardo e do Taquari. Na área da CEEE, a falta de luz atinge, sobretudo, a zona Norte de Porto Alegre, Alvorada e Viamão. Cerca de 80 mil clientes seguem sem eletricidade. Mais cedo, esse número chegou a 150 mil.
Já nas áreas de concessão da RGE, há 170 mil sem o serviço. A concessionária cita, entre as cidades mais afetadas, Alegrete, Uruguaiana, Santa Maria, Santa Rosa, São Borja, Frederico Westphalen, Santo Ângelo, Santa Cruz do Sul, Venâncio Aires, Portão, Nova Santa Rita e Montenegro.
As companhias pedem que os moradores não toquem em fios e cabos soltos, já que podem estar energizados, provocando acidentes.
